Siemens Energy to rebrand as Omterra and lifts 2030 profit margin target

Siemens Energy announced that it will begin a phased rebranding to the name Omterra later this year, ending the licensed use of the Siemens brand. The move is intended to emphasise the company’s independence and will eliminate future licence fees. CEO Christian Bruch said the timing is right for “the transition to our own brand,” and the change is not expected to materially affect the firm’s fundamentals.

At the same time, the board raised internal return targets, aiming for an adjusted EBIT margin of more than 18 % by 2030. Current guidance expects a 14‑16 % margin by 2028 and a 12 % profit margin for the current year. Units that consistently miss the new targets could face organisational measures, including possible spin‑offs or separations. The dual announcements signal a tighter focus on profitability and a strategic brand repositioning for the energy‑technology group.
