Sierra del Espadán wildfire leaves thousands displaced and burns victim Ignacio

A wildfire raging through the Sierra del Espadán area of Castellón province forced the evacuation of roughly 7,000 residents from villages such as Artana, Eslida, Ahín, Alcudia de Veo, Tales and surrounding urbanisations. People like Pablo Gimeno, who escaped the fire while at home, remain unable to return, with authorities controlling the fire front along the CV‑322 road and no homes reported burned yet.

In a separate act of solidarity, Sevilla FC hosted Ignacio, a young man whose injuries from a fire covered 42 % of his body. The club invited him to spend a memorable morning with the first‑team squad as a gesture of support for his recovery.
