Sierra Nevada ski resort to receive €17 million for 2026‑27 winter upgrades

The Sierra Nevada ski resort in Granada will invest up to €17 million in preparations for the 2026/27 winter season. The funding will modernise snow‑making systems, add new piste‑grooming equipment and four snowmobiles, and overhaul lifts such as the Stadium, Laguna and Montebajo telesillas. Areas for activities and parking will be re‑organised, and a new restaurant, D’Tapas Nevasol by Covap, will open on the Borreguiles piste.

The project is overseen by Cetursa Sierra Nevada, the public company that runs the resort. Patricia del Pozo, Andalusian minister for Culture, Heritage and Sport, will assume the presidency of Cetursa and highlighted that the investment continues the regional government's commitment, which has exceeded €100 million since 2019. The station reported a €55 million turnover in the last campaign, surpassing the previous record of €51.3 million. The upgrades aim to keep Sierra Nevada a leading ski destination in Spain and Europe and to attract major winter sport competitions.
