Sigfrido Ranucci denies censorship allegations amid Report dispute

Sigfrido Ranucci, the former host of the investigative program Report, has issued a public rebuttal via Facebook against several former collaborators following comments made on the Rai 3 program ‘Filorosso’.

Ranucci addressed allegations made by former collaborator Alberto Nerazzini, who claimed Ranucci was not a leftist journalist and had censored three investigations. Ranucci denied these claims, stating, “I have never censored anyone, on the contrary, I have defended every product of my correspondents.” He also responded to Giorgio Mottola regarding concerns about his dual role as author and host, and to consultant Gian Gaetano Bellavia regarding past investigations.

This dispute occurs amid ongoing legal proceedings. Ranucci has filed an urgent appeal regarding his leadership of Report, with a decision from Judge Donatella Casari expected in early October. While awaiting the ruling, Ranucci has been offered alternative roles within Rai, including positions at Rainews, Tg3, or the Il Cairo correspondence office.
