Sigfrido Ranucci investigation: Anonymous email clarifies bomb attack details

Investigations into the bomb attack against Report journalist Sigfrido Ranucci have taken a significant turn following the discovery of an anonymous email sent to prosecutor Carlo Villani. Titled ‘Regalo di Pasqua’, the message, sent in early April, helped investigators rule out involvement by organized crime groups like the Camorra.

The email, which claimed that Ranucci had done nothing to offend criminal organizations, provided specific names, surnames, and phone numbers of the actual perpetrators. Authorities have identified Davide Netti as the likely sender of the message, noting that the information provided was corroborated by existing investigative elements. The email suggested the attackers acted on behalf of others, causing unintended trouble for local criminal bosses.

Amidst the legal proceedings, Ranucci faces political scrutiny and media pressure. Some political figures and outlets have attempted to discredit him, reviving old allegations and questioning his professional conduct, though no evidence has linked him to any wrongdoing regarding the attack.
