Signal Festival opens in Prague with digital art installations

The 14th annual Signal Festival has commenced in Prague, running from October 15 to 18, 2026. The event features 21 digital and light installations, categorized into 13 free public outdoor exhibits and eight ticketed indoor experiences under the “Signal INSIDE” banner.

A central theme of this year’s program, “Dream On! Sny a vize,” includes the “Havel90” project to commemorate the 90th anniversary of former president Václav Havel’s birth. This is highlighted by a videomapping titled “Life in Truth” on the Old Town Hall, created by Ukrainian artist Svitlana Reinish. The work draws inspiration from Havel’s 1978 essay, “The Power of the Powerless,” and marks the first time a woman has created a videomapping for the festival.

For the first time, the festival has expanded its footprint beyond the city center to include a second major route through the Dejvice and Bubeneč districts, stretching from the Troja-Podbaba shipping canal to the Dejvice Campus. Local authorities have advised visitors to use public transit, specifically the metro, to avoid traffic congestion in the city center during the event.
