Sila Raises $300 Million to Expand U.S. Silicon‑Carbon Anode Production
Battery‑materials company Sila announced a $300 million private‑equity financing aimed at expanding U.S. output of its silicon‑carbon anode material, Titan Silicon, and supporting a Phase 2 expansion of its Moses Lake, Washington, manufacturing plant. The facility, completed in fall 2025, has begun operations and is now ramping up production.
The funding roundup also noted that AMPYR Distributed Energy secured €170 million (~$194 million) in debt to acquire renewable‑energy assets across Europe, Sofab Inks raised $6 million for perovskite solar research, Brookfield Asset Management agreed to purchase North‑American battery‑storage platform Aypa Power in a deal valuing it at about $7 billion, and MN8 Energy entered a cash‑and‑equity transaction to acquire Greenbacker Renewable Energy for up to $375 million.
