Silesian Guitar Autumn festival celebrates 20th anniversary

The 20th anniversary edition of the Silesian Guitar Autumn festival begins on October 17 in Tychy and Katowice. The jubilee event features over 200 artists from around the world, showcasing diverse styles including classical, jazz, flamenco, and traditional Indian music.

Key highlights include the world premiere of ‘La nave de Teseo,’ composed specifically for the festival, performed by Marcin Dylla and the Kupiński Guitar Duo alongside the AUKSO orchestra. Other scheduled performances include Mateusz Kowalski at the NOSPR hall in Katowice, with international artists arriving from Brazil, South Korea, Germany, and Slovakia.

The festival also hosts the J. E. Jurkowski International Guitar Competition. Young musicians will compete for an 8,000 euro grand prize, with the final round scheduled for October 24 featuring six top guitarists performing with the AUKSO orchestra.
