International guitar festival anniversaries
Overview
Various international guitar festivals are celebrating 20th anniversaries in October 2026.
In Berlin, the Berlin International Guitar Competition and Festival marked its two-decade milestone. The biennial event, founded in 2006 by Professor Dang Ngoc Long, featured 30 contestants from 15 countries. The competition included mandatory pieces inspired by Vietnamese folk melodies to promote Vietnamese musical culture.
In Poland, the Silesian Guitar Autumn festival also entered its 20th year, featuring over 200 artists across genres such as classical, jazz, and flamenco. The jubilee includes the world premiere of ‘La nave de Teseo’ and the J. E. Jurkowski International Guitar Competition, which offers an 8,000 euro grand prize.
