Silesian schools to receive 6.6 million PLN for outdoor eco-workshops

The Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW) in Katowice has announced the results of the fourth edition of the ‘Ekopracownia pod chmurką’ (Eco-workshop under the clouds) competition. Out of 170 applications received, 95 educational institutions in the Silesian Voivodeship were selected for funding.

A total of over 6.6 million PLN will be allocated to create specialized outdoor learning spaces. These areas are designed to facilitate practical lessons in subjects such as biology, ecology, geography, and geology by allowing students to observe nature directly through experiments and field activities.

Once these new projects are completed, there will be a total of 355 such outdoor learning spaces operating within the Silesian region. The program aims to move education beyond traditional classroom settings to enhance learning through observation and hands-on experience.
