Educational grant initiatives in Poland

Educational grant initiatives are being implemented across various regions in Poland, utilizing both provincial and European Union funding to support student development and ecological awareness.

In the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Gdańsk has allocated 200,000 PLN to fund outdoor ecological education for students in grades IV-VIII, particularly those in rural areas. This program covers costs for transportation and meals during trips to designated landscape park centers.

In the Silesian Voivodeship, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW) in Katowice has announced the results of the fourth edition of the ‘Ekopracownia pod chmurką’ (Eco-workshop under the clouds) competition. From 170 applications, 95 educational institutions were selected to receive funding totaling over 6.6 million PLN. These funds will create specialized outdoor learning spaces designed for practical lessons in biology, ecology, geography, and geology. Upon completion, the Silesian region will have a total of 355 such outdoor learning spaces intended to facilitate hands-on experience and direct nature observation.

Other regional projects continue to address diverse educational needs. In Lublin County, a project valued at 718,851 PLN, supported by European Funds for Social Development, aims to enhance the competencies of teachers and staff. Meanwhile, in Radymno, the Local Action Group Association ‘Z Tradycją w Nowoczesność’ is utilizing Regional Program European Funds for Podkarpacie to host ecological workshops focusing on Zero Waste practices, insect conservation, and eco-fashion.
