Silicon Motion and MediaTek Unveil AI‑Ready Automotive Storage Solutions

Silicon Motion Technology Corp and MediaTek will share a joint keynote at the Flash Memory Summit on 4 August 2026 in Santa Clara, United States. The presentation, titled “Storage Powering Agentic AI Everywhere,” will pair MediaTek’s automotive cockpit platform with Silicon Motion’s automotive storage controllers to meet the data‑intensive demands of AI‑ready vehicles.

Silicon Motion’s Associate Vice President of Edge SSD Business, Stanley Huang, said storage architecture has become the performance foundation for intelligent systems as AI workloads grow. MediaTek’s Director of Automotive System Architecture, Waheed Ahmed, added that coupling advanced computing with intelligent storage is central to building AI‑ready cars. The session will also cover Silicon Motion’s enterprise SSD technology, including PerformaShape, highlighting the company’s expansion from vehicle cockpits to AI data‑centre workloads.

The joint talk underscores a broader industry shift to treat automotive platforms as extensions of the same AI infrastructure that powers servers and edge devices, rather than as isolated products.
