Silver Ferns lead Constellation Cup 2-0 after Christchurch victory

The New Zealand Silver Ferns have secured a 2-0 series lead in the 2026 Constellation Cup following a 62-50 victory over the Australian Diamonds in Christchurch. This win follows their 56-50 victory in the opening test.

In the second match at Wolfbrook Arena, New Zealand established an early lead, bolstered by Grace Nweke, who recorded 26 successful goals from 26 attempts in the first half. Although Australia mounted a significant comeback in the third quarter—reducing the margin to just three goals—the Silver Ferns responded with a decisive 17-8 final quarter.

The momentum shift was aided by the introduction of Te Paea Selby-Rickit and the return of midcourter Peta Toeava. The series now moves to Australia, with upcoming matches scheduled in Sydney on October 25 and Melbourne on October 28.
