Simple Minds announce new album Sacrosanct and worldwide tour

Scottish band Simple Minds have announced their new studio album, ‘Sacrosanct’, scheduled for release on January 29, 2027, via BMG. The project follows their 2022 album ‘Direction of the Heart’ and serves as the third installment in an empathetic trilogy.

To support the release, the band is launching the ‘V Tour’ in 2027, which includes dates across the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Supporting acts for various legs of the tour include Gary Numan and Level 42. Specific arena dates have been confirmed for major cities including London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin, as well as shows in Porto and Lisbon, Portugal.

The lead single, ‘Beginner Boys’, has already been released. Vocalist Jim Kerr noted that the song was inspired by his relationship with his twin grandsons, exploring themes of how strength and gentleness can coexist in modern culture. The album features eight tracks, including ‘Elysium’, ‘King of the Underworld’, and ‘Jerusalem (State of Mind)’, blending the band’s art-rock and new wave roots.
