Simple Minds album and tour announcement
Overview
Scottish rock band Simple Minds announced their new studio album, ‘Sacrosanct’, which is scheduled for release on January 29, 2027, via BMG. The album follows their 2022 release, ‘Direction of the Heart’.
To support the album and mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s career, they are launching the ‘V Tour 2027’. Described as their largest arena tour to date, the tour is set to begin in February 2027 in Australia and New Zealand before traveling through the United Kingdom, Europe, and other regions. Supporting acts for various legs of the tour include Gary Numan and Level 42.
The lead single, ‘Beginner Boys’, has been released. Vocalist Jim Kerr stated that the album title reflects the deep connection developed by founding members through five decades of songwriting.
