Sinaloa Governor launches reforestation drive and meets regional demands

Sinaloa Governor Yeraldine Bonilla Valverde has launched the National Reforestation Day in the state, beginning in Ahome. This initiative, aligned with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's national plan, aims to plant over 6 million trees and disperse 1.5 million seeds across Mexico. In Sinaloa, the effort targets 109 polygons across 20 municipalities, with a goal of planting 157,000 trees across 691 hectares.

Separately, Guasave Mayor Cecilia Ramírez Montoya is seeking an audience with Governor Bonilla to discuss critical regional infrastructure and legal projects. Key priorities include the opening of the Criminal Justice Center and a storm drain project for northern Guasave to mitigate flooding during the rainy season. The mayor noted that the drain project requires coordination between state and federal authorities due to high costs.
