Overview

Sinaloa is pursuing environmental and economic development initiatives aimed at increasing regional resilience. Governor Yeraldine Bonilla Valverde launched a reforestation drive in Ahome as part of a national plan to plant millions of trees, targeting 157,000 trees across 691 hectares within the state.

Simultaneously, the state is working to transition from a primary economy toward increased industrial activity. Secretary of Economy Diego Aguerrebere Espitia noted that this industrialization is consolidating in the north and expanding south to better withstand external shocks like climatic events.

Local infrastructure remains a point of coordination between municipal and state authorities. In Guasave, officials have addressed the need for a storm drain to mitigate flooding and discussed support for local merchants impacted by ongoing drainage and pavement construction projects.
