Sinaloa Governor prioritizes electrical repairs for schools

Sinaloa Governor Graciela Domínguez Nava has pledged priority attention to educational facilities facing electrical supply issues. The governor stated that while the educational infrastructure budget for the year has largely been implemented, efforts are being made to ensure no school remains without power.

Of the approximately 86 schools that lacked electricity at the start of the school year, only about 10 remain unresolved due to complex repair requirements. Two additional cases requiring repairs have also been identified.

In the Ejido 20 de Noviembre community, the ‘Ángel Flores’ elementary school has been unable to hold classes since the start of the school cycle due to electrical failures. Officials estimate that approximately one million pesos are required to replace the electrical substation, wiring, and related components. Following a meeting between parents, local authorities, and Ahome Mayor Antonio Menéndez de Llano Chávez, the municipal government has requested expedited resources from the state government to restore service.
