Sinaloa hosts 2026 State Paralympic Games with 448 athletes
The 2026 CONADE National State Paralympic Games are currently underway in Sinaloa, featuring 448 athletes and over 600 participants, including coaches and support staff. The event aims to strengthen adaptive sports development and identify new talent from early developmental stages.
In the parathletics discipline, Mazatlán leads the overall medal tally with 96 medals, including 57 gold, 31 silver, and 8 bronze. Culiacán holds second place with 58 medals, followed by Ahome with 55 medals. Notable individual performances include Jesús Manuel Altamirano, Emmanuel de Jesús Valle, and Silvana María Quiñones from Mazatlán, all of whom secured three gold medals.
Ahome's delegation has also shown strong results, particularly through athlete Iván Bernabé Angulo, who achieved top placements in the 100-meter dash, shot put, and long jump. The competition serves as a qualifying stage for the national phase scheduled to take place in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
