Spanish Police provide specialized training in Coahuila to combat gender violence

Specialists from the Spanish National Police are conducting an international training program in Coahuila, Mexico, to strengthen the investigation and care of victims of gender, sexual, and family violence. The 40-hour program, running from October 19 to 23, involves 100 participants from 16 Mexican states and eight municipalities in Coahuila.

The initiative is supported by the Government of Coahuila through the State Attorney General's Office, the Prosecutor's Office for Women and Children, and DIF Coahuila, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Mexico. Training topics include victim interviewing, risk assessment, and the coordination of protection measures.

Spanish officials recognized Coahuila's institutional practices, such as the creation of the Prosecutor's Office for Women and Children and specialized monitoring centers. The training also introduces innovative tools, including a pictogram booklet designed to facilitate communication with victims of sexual violence who face verbal expression difficulties.
