Sinaloa Sets 2026‑27 School Calendar, Classes Resume August 31
The Secretariat of Public Education and Culture (SEPyC) released Sinaloa's 2026‑2027 school calendar for public and private basic education. The schedule provides 185 instructional days and will begin on 31 August 2026, concluding on 6 July 2027, three days earlier than the national timetable to address the state's high‑temperature concerns.
Eight regular sessions of the School Technical Council are slated for 2026 (25 Sept, 30 Oct, 27 Nov) and five for 2027 (29 Jan, 26 Feb, 30 Apr, 28 May, 25 Jun). Teachers will attend an intensive phase of the council from 24‑28 August before classes restart. Intensive workshops for administrative staff are discontinued.
Winter break runs from 21 Dec 2026 to 6 Jan 2027, with classes resuming on 7 Jan. The Easter break covers 22 Mar to 2 Apr, with a return on 5 Apr. A special “Day of Awareness on the Gravity of Sexual Abuse and Child Maltreatment” is scheduled for 7 Sept 2026. Teacher‑free days in 2026 include 16 Sept (Independence Day), 2 Nov (Day of the Dead) and 16 Nov (substituting 20 Nov); in 2027 the holidays are 1 Feb (substituting Constitution Day), 15 Mar (Benito Juárez’s birthday) and 5 May (Battle of Puebla). The state calendar omits the three days reserved nationally for grade‑recording, allowing the earlier completion of the academic cycle.
