Sinaloa textile suppliers await school uniform program payments

Textile suppliers in Salvador Alvarado, Sinaloa, expect payments for the state government's school uniform and supplies program to begin as early as this Friday. Following a meeting with Saúl Espinosa, the official in charge of the program, the government has begun receiving vouchers and documentation for payment requests.

Flavio Valente Armenta Sánchez, leader of the textile workers, noted that the state has committed to processing payments approximately one month after a provider completes the administrative documentation. He urged merchants to submit their paperwork promptly rather than waiting until the program ends in November to avoid delays caused by the year-end holiday season.

Regarding the uniform exchange process, Armenta Sánchez reported that no local provider has reached a 100 percent exchange rate of vouchers, with some reporting progress between 70 and 80 percent. He suggested that confusion regarding the Rita Cetina scholarship may have contributed to some families not utilizing the uniform exchange program.
