Sinaloa violence: Seven killed in Culiacán and Mazatlán shootings

A wave of violence has struck the Mexican state of Sinaloa, resulting in at least seven murders across the municipalities of Culiacán and Mazatlán over a single weekend.

In Culiacán, 31-year-old Erika Guadalupe was shot and killed by armed individuals in front of her family at a residence near the northern exit of the city, close to the road leading to Tepuche. Other killings in the capital included the shooting of 35-year-old Jorge Luis in an apartment complex in the Infonavit Las Flores neighborhood, and the deaths of three individuals—preliminarily identified as Anibal, Jesús, and Juan José—following an attack on a home in the Urbivilla del Sol residential area.

In Mazatlán, violence was reported in the Villa Unión township, where a woman named Angelina was killed outside her home. Additionally, a couple traveling on a motorcycle in the Colinas del Rey neighborhood was targeted; the driver died while the passenger was injured. Several other men were hospitalized with gunshot wounds following these incidents.
