Quintana Roo Government Distributes Agricultural Machinery to Farmers
The state government of Quintana Roo handed over agricultural machinery and implements to 73 producers in Chetumal, investing 18.18 million pesos. The delivery, part of a shared‑financing scheme, provided up to 250,000 pesos for tractors and other equipment to 36 beneficiaries and up to 100,000 pesos for implements to 37 beneficiaries. Jorge Aguilar Osorio, head of the Secretariat of Rural Agricultural Development and Fisheries (SEDARPE), said the equipment will reduce lag and create real production opportunities. The program, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and supported by Secretary of Government Cristina Torres Gómez, aims to boost productivity, modernise farming practices and improve family incomes across the municipalities of Othón P. Blanco, José María Morelos, Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Lázaro Cárdenas. Beneficiaries include 59 men and 14 women who will use tractors, seeders, drones, sprayers and post‑harvest tools such as trailers and balers.
