Sinalp pushes for permanent disability policy table in Palermo

The autonomous trade union Sinalp Sicilia has formally requested the creation of a permanent working table on disability in Palermo and its province. In an open letter the union calls on the municipal administration, the Metropolitan City, the local health authority (ASP), third‑sector associations and worker representatives to convene a structured dialogue. The aim is to develop concrete strategies to simplify access to support, strengthen educational and care services, and establish a permanent observatory to monitor the implementation of disability policies.

Sinalp emphasizes that disability issues should not be used for political campaigning but addressed as a shared responsibility. The union, representing thousands of ASACOM workers in Sicily, seeks a prompt response from the mayor and metropolitan president, hoping to begin discussions within weeks to ensure immediate assistance for people with disabilities and their families.
