Sindirações and Fefac sign agreement to boost Brazil-EU animal feed cooperation
The National Union of the Animal Feed Industry (Sindirações) and the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (Fefac) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the Brazilian and European animal feed sectors.
The agreement focuses on several key areas, including animal food safety, animal health and welfare, biosecurity, sustainability, international standards, and regulatory advancements. The entities plan to exchange knowledge regarding input approvals, labeling, and maximum residue limits, while also collaborating within international organizations.
According to Sindirações CEO Ariovaldo Zani, the initiative aims to support the implementation of agreements between the European Union and Mercosul. The cooperation is expected to increase trade in grains, oilseeds, and their byproducts—such as meals and biofuels—as well as additives for animal nutrition.
