Singapore Airlines announces upgraded inflight entertainment and Starlink connectivity

Singapore Airlines has unveiled an upgrade to its KrisWorld inflight entertainment platform, which is set to debut on retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft starting in early 2027. The new system will feature 4K OLED touchscreens, spatial audio, Bluetooth pairing, and a redesigned user interface with improved search functions and a mini-player. Content offerings will include approximately 2,500 options from providers such as Apple TV, BBC, HBO Max, and Paramount+.

As part of this technological rollout, the airline will begin implementing Starlink high-speed internet connectivity across 53 Airbus A380 and A350-900/ULR aircraft in early 2027. Starlink will be provided free of charge to passengers in Suites, First, and Business Class, as well as to PPS Club and KrisFlyer members across all cabin classes.

While First and Business Class passengers will receive significant hardware upgrades, the retrofits for Premium Economy and Economy cabins will focus on the entertainment system and audio rather than seat replacement. Full hardware upgrades, including 4K screens and USB-C ports for all cabins, are expected with the future introduction of the Boeing 777X fleet.
