Singapore and India launch new AI skills and literacy initiatives
Singapore and India are launching new initiatives to expand artificial intelligence literacy and workforce readiness.
In Singapore, the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) has introduced a cross-industry AI skills pathway. This program features two tracks: an AI Bilingual Pathway for non-technical professionals to learn responsible AI adoption, and an AI Practitioner Pathway for those seeking specialist roles such as AI platform or application engineers. Additionally, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced AI fluency programs specifically for legal professionals and nearly 2,000 training opportunities for tech workers to strengthen the nation's digital workforce.
In India, UNIVO Education has launched an AI Readiness Initiative to support the national goal of democratizing AI access. The program offers free foundational courses on AI fundamentals and responsible usage, alongside role-based professional certifications. The initiative is designed to be accessible to various demographics, including students and experienced employees, through online modules that require no coding knowledge.
