Singapore and India AI skills initiatives
Overview
Singapore and India have launched new initiatives aimed at expanding artificial intelligence literacy and workforce readiness.
In Singapore, the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) introduced a cross-industry AI skills pathway featuring tracks for both non-technical professionals and specialist engineers. Complementing this, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced AI fluency programs for legal professionals and approximately 2,000 training opportunities for tech workers.
In India, UNIVO Education launched an AI Readiness Initiative to support the goal of democratizing AI access. This program provides free foundational courses on AI fundamentals and responsible usage, as well as role-based professional certifications designed to be accessible to students and employees without requiring coding knowledge.
