Singapore Institute of Management signs 14‑year solar PPA with Peak Energy
The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) has entered a 14‑year power purchase agreement with clean‑energy platform Peak Energy to install an on‑site solar photovoltaic system at its Clementi Road campus. The roughly 900 kW rooftop installation is expected to generate about 1,100 MWh of clean electricity each year, with SIM purchasing the power at a rate at least 45 % lower than its current electricity price and without any upfront capital outlay.
The agreement, which includes design, financing, construction, ownership, operation and maintenance by Peak Energy, aims to lower SIM’s electricity costs, improve energy cost certainty and reduce its carbon footprint. The deal reflects a growing trend among Singapore’s educational and institutional operators to adopt onsite solar amid high regional power prices and volatility in imported natural‑gas supplies.
