Singer Güllü's death trial approaches one year after fatal fall

One year after the death of Turkish arabesque and fantasy singer Güllü (born Gül Tut), legal proceedings regarding her suspicious passing continue. The artist died on September 26, 2025, after falling approximately 18 meters from a window at her home in the Çınarcık district of Yalova.

An autopsy report indicated that the cause of death was general body trauma, intracranial hemorrhage, fractures, and injuries to internal organs and major vessels resulting from the fall. No medical findings of poisoning were identified.

The investigation has led to an indictment accepted by the Yalova 1st High Criminal Court. The singer's daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, faces charges of “premeditated murder of a close relative,” with prosecutors seeking an aggravated life sentence. Additionally, Sultan Nur Ulu is facing a request for two to four years in prison for “perjury.” The first hearing is scheduled to take place on October 1, 2026.
