Turkish singer Nev dies at 57

Turkish pop-rock singer and songwriter Nevzat Doğansoy, known professionally as Nev, has passed away at the age of 57. His manager, İlker Ercan, confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the artist and friend.

Doğansoy had been receiving intensive care at a hospital following a loss of consciousness on September 3. While he had briefly been taken off life support during his treatment, his condition deteriorated due to liver disease and multiple organ failure. He had recently been re-intubated as his health declined.

Born in Istanbul in 1968, Nev rose to prominence through his work with the group Chantage in 1995 and his participation in Teoman’s Turkey tour in 2000. He released his debut solo album, ‘Her Şeye Rağmen’, in 2001, which featured the hit song ‘Zor’. He was widely recognized for his unique style that blended pop-rock with Turkish classical music elements.
