Mato Grosso municipalities expand influenza vaccination drives
In Várzea Grande, the municipal Primary Care Superintendency ran a mobile vaccination session on 13 April for employees of the Solar BR Coca‑Cola group. A total of 146 doses were administered, including 58 for hepatitis, 48 for influenza, 39 for DT (diphtheria‑tetanus) and one for Covid‑19, aiming to raise influenza coverage among priority groups. Superintendant Nathalya Rondon said the action is part of routine efforts to improve the city’s vaccination indicators.
Meanwhile, the city of Sinop is holding a “Dia D” health day on Saturday 18 April. All local health units (except UBS Gleba Mercedes) will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to provide free influenza shots, hepatitis‑virus testing as part of the national July Yellow campaign, and a range of preventive services such as Pap‑smear collection, dental care, prenatal partner visits, and family‑planning consultations. Director of Primary Care Lucas Salvador emphasized that the Saturday opening helps residents who cannot attend during weekdays.
