Sinop promotes rural tourism through local field day event

The Sinop City Hall, through its Tourism Directorate, recently hosted the “Sabores, Natureza e Experiências Rurais” (Flavors, Nature, and Rural Experiences) Field Day at Sítio Dois Amigos. The event aimed to showcase how rural properties can be transformed into tourism opportunities to generate new income streams.

Tourism guides, travel agency representatives, and local partners participated in various activities, including a rural breakfast featuring on-site products, pepper harvesting, and visits to blueberry orchards and a meliponary (stingless bee farm). The itinerary also included an ecological trail to a river and a visit to a panga fish farming tank.

This initiative follows a consultancy program started earlier this year to help landowners structure their properties and organize activities that highlight rural production and nature contact. According to Tourism Director Leidiane Viegas, the event served as a vital step in testing planned experiences and connecting rural owners with professionals capable of marketing these attractions to visitors.
