Rural tourism development in Sinop

Overview

The Sinop City Hall, via its Tourism Directorate, organized the ‘Sabores, Natureza e Experiências Rurais’ (Flavors, Nature, and Rural Experiences) Field Day at Sítio Dois Amigos. The event was designed to demonstrate how rural properties can be converted into tourism opportunities to create new income streams.

Participants, including tourism guides and travel agency representatives, engaged in activities such as a rural breakfast, pepper harvesting, visits to blueberry orchards, and a tour of a meliponary. The itinerary also featured an ecological trail and a visit to a panga fish farming tank.

This initiative builds upon a consultancy program launched earlier in the year to assist landowners in structuring their properties. Tourism Director Leidiane Viegas noted that the event allowed for testing planned experiences and connecting rural owners with professionals capable of marketing these attractions to visitors.
