Sinop University wins four awards at TEKNOFEST 2026

Sinop University achieved significant success at TEKNOFEST 2026, securing four first-place finishes in nuclear energy and robotics categories. Due to these achievements, the university was awarded a 15 million TL Academic Incentive Prize.

Key winning projects include the ‘Turkstar 40’ modular reactor system developed by the PRIME team, which is designed to produce energy while simultaneously desalinating Black Sea water into fresh water. In the robotics category, the ‘Nükleer İçin Robot’ team developed an armored robotic system capable of operating in high-radiation environments both inside and outside nuclear facilities.

Other top honors were awarded to the Nuclei-HGL team for ‘Energy Cycle Design’ and the SynCore team for ‘Reactor Core Design’. Additionally, the ATOMRİS team secured third place in the ‘Basic – Conceptual Design (Modular Reactor)’ category.
