Sorriso capoeira teams win titles at 10th Open Games in Primavera do Leste

Sorriso capoeira Open Games Nagô Canto do Sabiá

Students from the free cultural workshops of Sorriso's Municipal Culture Secretariat competed at the 10th edition of the Open Capoeira Games in Primavera do Leste. The delegation fielded 40 participants from the Santa Maria, Jardim Primavera, Roda do Sol, Distrito Primaverinha and Mário Raiter poles, organized into the Nagô and Canto do Sabiá groups.

Nagô secured the overall team vice‑championship, while Canto do Sabiá placed fourth. Individual medals were also awarded: champions included Ana Luiza, Aline Vitória, Júlia, Nicolas and Diego; vice‑champions were Luiz Felipe, Hemilly Vitória, Arthur Melo, Erika and Stefany; third places went to Luiz Otávio and Luiz (Chocolate). The results follow the group's recent success at the Copa Ouro in Diamantino.

Team leader and coach Formando Bordado credited the students' dedication, the instructors' work and the municipality’s investment in the cultural workshops for the achievements.
