Sinovoltaics Rankings Reveal Diverging Financial Health Across Energy Storage and PV Inverter Makers

Sinovoltaics released its third edition financial stability ranking covering September 2023 through June 2026 for 65 energy‑storage manufacturers. Using the Altman Z‑Score, the report placed 30 companies in a "safe" zone (Z > 2.6), 18 in a "grey" zone (1.1‑2.6) and 17 in a "distress" zone (≤ 1.1), with six scoring negative and indicating severe financial distress. Diversified industrial firms such as Tesla, ABB, Delta Electronics, Eaton, Siemens Energy and GE Vernova posted an average Z‑Score of 5.54, while inverter and power‑conversion makers averaged 3.26, battery cell and pack producers 2.03, and solar‑module makers 1.13. Stand‑alone storage integrators performed worst, averaging 0.08. Notable movers included ESS Tech, which saw its score fall sharply, and GE Vernova, HyperStrong and SolaX Power, which improved into the safe zone.

A separate Sinovoltaics PV‑inverter ranking evaluated more than 30 leading inverter manufacturers. Eighteen firms qualified for the safe zone, a slight decline from the previous edition. Delta Electronics led with an outstanding Z‑Score of 11.44, followed by KSTAR (8.08), APsystems and Sinexcel (6.84), Hoymiles Power (5.50), Eaton (4.73) and Sungrow (3.85). Siemens, Enphase Energy and SMA Solar Technology were placed in the grey zone, indicating moderate risk. The rankings highlight the growing importance of financial strength for warranty reliability and after‑sales support in the renewable‑energy sector.
