Sir Kevin Sinfield to run seven ultra-marathons for MND research

Rugby League legend Sir Kevin Sinfield is set to begin his final ‘7-in-7: The Grand Finale’ fundraising challenge, running seven ultra-marathons in seven days to support Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research.

The week-long event will cover over 230 miles across Yorkshire and the North West, visiting the home grounds of all 12 English Betfred Super League clubs. The journey begins at Hull KR’s Craven Park and is scheduled to conclude at Old Trafford ahead of the Super League Grand Final on October 3.

Since 2020, Sinfield’s challenges have raised more than £11 million for the MND community. This year’s proceeds will benefit six charities: the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity (for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND), My Name5 Doddie Foundation, Darby Rimmer Foundation, MND Scotland, and the Irish MND Association. The initiative honors the memory of Sinfield’s former teammate, Rob Burrow, who died in 2024 following an MND diagnosis.
