Siracusa resident reports dog waste issues near Paolo Orsi school

A resident in Siracusa has reported a recurring issue regarding uncollected dog waste in front of the Paolo Orsi school. The reports indicate that the sidewalks and flowerbeds near the school entrance are being soiled daily, particularly during evening hours.

According to the complaint, groups of dog owners gather on benches in front of the institute, allowing their pets to defecate in the surrounding area. The situation has caused concern for parents and students due to hygiene risks. When confronted, some owners reportedly claimed they were permitted to do so because there are no signs prohibiting the practice.

However, local municipal regulations in Siracusa mandate that owners must collect solid waste from their pets in public spaces. Furthermore, the regulations prohibit dogs from defecating within 100 meters of designated children's play areas.
