The administration of Siracusa is addressing uncertainty regarding the city’s urban hygiene and waste management services following judicial developments.

The situation involves a complex business transition where the company Tekra leased its business branch to Ris Am, a move that included a multi-million euro contract for Siracusa and was formalized without prior municipal involvement. Recent actions by the Guardia di Finanza in Campania, ordered by the Court of Nocera Inferiore, have increased concerns regarding the stability of these companies.

Mayor Francesco Italia stated that municipal offices are remaining vigilant and are in contact with a new judicial administrator to assess potential consequences for service continuity.
