Romania emergency services report high volume of incidents

Emergency services across various Romanian counties have reported a high volume of incidents involving accidents, fires, and rescue operations. In Argeș, authorities managed 167 emergency situations over a three-day period, including SMURD medical assistance, vehicle fires, and road accidents.

In Dolj, firefighters responded to 32 interventions, including eight fires that burned approximately 30 hectares of vegetation and one house in Cârcea. In Maramureș, Salvamont teams conducted seven mountain rescues, assisting 14 people, including several Ukrainian citizens found in the mountains.

Other notable activities include a search mission for a 16-year-old missing in the Siret River near the Vrancea and Galați border, and a large-scale police operation in Arbore, Suceava, where 348 people were identified and 52 fines were issued. Additionally, ISU Neamț has ordered the construction of a new 4 million lei firefighter subunit in Roznov to improve regional response times.
