SiriusXM to close Howard Stern archive channel in programming shuffle
SiriusXM is undergoing a programming reorganization that includes the removal of Howard Stern’s archive channel, Howard 101, effective September 1. While the Howard 101 channel will close, Stern’s live programming and related content will continue on Howard 100.
The realignment involves several shifts: Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy will move from Channel 102 to Channel 101. SiriusXM will also begin simulcasting various AM and FM sports radio stations from Audacy on channels 94 through 99 and 169 through 172. Additionally, comedy channels such as Netflix is a Joke Radio and Comedy Central Radio will move to channels 103 through 109.
On the news side, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) will move to Channel 117, and Dateline 24/7 will be available on Channel 118. The company is also dedicating two channels, 93 and 144, to specialty pop-up or limited-time events. These changes follow previous staff reductions within Stern’s radio operation, which reportedly affected approximately 50 employees.
