Sisak improves rights for kindergarten employees

The City of Sisak and the Union of Education, Media, and Culture have signed an amendment to the collective agreement for employees in Sisak's preschool institutions. The agreement, signed by Mayor Domagoj Orlić and Union President Božica Žilić, introduces several improvements to working conditions and material rights.

Key changes include the introduction of specific job titles with corresponding coefficients to ensure that future adjustments are made through social dialogue rather than unilateral decisions. For educators with higher professional qualifications, the complexity coefficient is set to increase by approximately 12 percent starting January 1, 2027. Additionally, employees will receive holiday allowances (regres) for the first time in over a decade.

The agreement also establishes rights to biennial systematic medical examinations and regulates matters concerning annual leave, sick leave, and jubilee awards. Alongside these labor improvements, the city is continuing investments in kindergarten facilities, including renovations and the creation of new spaces to increase capacity.
