SISALRIL expands health benefits for Dominican state retirees

The Superintendency of Health and Labor Risks (SISALRIL) has expanded health benefits for more than 122,000 state retirees and pensioners in the Dominican Republic. Through Administrative Resolution No. 00269, the measure introduces new medical coverage and increases payment rates for specific outpatient services.

New benefits include treatments for gigantomastia and gynecomastia, as well as essential medications for tuberculosis and antiretroviral drugs for individuals living with HIV. Additionally, the resolution increases payment rates for professionals providing outpatient services in psychology, psychiatry, and dentistry.

Superintendent Miguel Ceara Hatton stated that the expansion aims to close the gap between the Special Plans and the Contributory Regime. The Social Security Treasury (TSS) has been instructed to manage the necessary fund dispersions to ensure the financing of these new benefits.
