SISALRIL orders insurers to prevent service disruptions for affiliates

The Superintendency of Health and Labor Risks (SISALRIL) has instructed Health Risk Administrators (ARS) and healthcare providers to ensure that contractual or financial disputes do not impact members of the Family Health Insurance (SFS).

Disagreements regarding contracts, rates, or payments must be resolved through established institutional channels or via SISALRIL. The entity warned that these disputes cannot result in additional charges for affiliates, the withholding of documents, or the unjustified suspension of covered medical services.

Under Circular 002957, providers are also required to issue receipts for payments made for services included in the Basic Health Plan. To improve transparency regarding copayments and fees, providers must offer electronic payment alternatives, such as bank transfers and credit cards.
