Sistan and Baluchestan hit by 101 km/h wind and dust storms
Severe dust storms and high winds are impacting the Sistan and Baluchestan province in Iran. In Zabol, wind speeds reached 101 kilometers per hour, reducing horizontal visibility to 2,500 meters. In Zahak, wind speeds were recorded at 60 kilometers per hour, with visibility dropping to 1,800 meters.
Mohsen Heydari, the Director General of Meteorology for Sistan and Baluchestan, stated that intense winds and dust storms are expected to continue in the northern part of the province through the end of the week, particularly during morning hours. In Zahedan and central regions, wind speeds may increase during midday, potentially raising dust concentrations.
Authorities have issued warnings for citizens to use masks for health protection and for drivers to exercise caution on roads due to reduced visibility. Additionally, construction workers and farmers have been advised to take necessary safety precautions to protect personnel and agricultural assets.
