Sistema FAEP agricultural model attracts interest from Nigerian cooperative

Representatives from the Nigerian cooperative Gondal Fulbe Development Initiative (GFDI) visited the headquarters of Sistema FAEP in Curitiba, Brazil, to study the Technical and Managerial Assistance (ATeG) model. The Nigerian delegation aims to use the Brazilian system as a reference to strengthen their own operations in Adamawa State, located in northeastern Nigeria.

GFDI, established in 2025, focuses on supporting small-scale milk producers by improving access to inputs, adopting new technologies, providing training, and connecting producers to markets. The visit included exploring various programs, training sessions, and initiatives offered by Sistema FAEP to support sustainable rural growth.

Agriculture is a vital sector for Nigeria, accounting for approximately 23% of the country's GDP and 33.5% of employment in 2025. GFDI members noted that the integrated approach used by Brazilian organizations could help address existing gaps in Nigeria's agricultural support structures.
