Sister Act Musical to open Milan's Teatro Nazionale season

The Teatro Nazionale Italiana Assicurazioni in Milan will open its 2026/2027 season with the musical ‘Sister Act’, running from October 8, 2026, through mid-January 2027. The production is an adaptation of the Broadway version, featuring music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken with Italian lyrics by Franco Travaglio.

In a unique casting choice, the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier will be shared by two performers. Gloria Enchill, who starred in the 2022 production, will perform starting in October. Following her, newcomer Speranza Tesoro will make her debut in the role for performances spanning November, December, and January. Director Chiara Noschese noted that the decision aims to allow a young talent to grow alongside experienced professionals.

The production features sets by Lele Moreschi, costumes by Ivan Stefanutti, and direction by Chiara Noschese.
