SITA to acquire Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions

SITA has reached an agreement to acquire Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions, a move intended to expand its aviation technology portfolio and enhance integrated airport operations. The acquisition combines SITA’s aviation communications and IT business with Collins Aerospace’s expertise in passenger processing, self-service technologies, baggage handling, and terminal operations.

SITA CEO David Lavorel stated that the acquisition expands the company’s capabilities to meet the growing needs of the aviation sector, specifically regarding the integration of technology and innovation to manage passenger journeys and prevent service disruptions. Nathalie Altwegg, SITA’s Senior Vice President of Airports, emphasized the importance of being a trusted partner for airport technology procurement.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The deal is expected to impact competition in the airport technology market by consolidating systems for passenger and baggage management under a single provider.
